Public Health Specialist-Care and Treatment Advisor

U.S. Embassy Maseru seeks a qualified individual for the position of Public Health Specialist-care and Treatment Advisor.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Job holder serves as a senior Locally Employed (LE) advisor supporting the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, Division of Global HIV and TB activities for the implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned public health program activities and studies. Job holder's responsibilities include technical support, advice and guidance, day-to-day program and administrative management, and coordination and collaboration with other PEPFAR agencies to ensure project implementation addresses program strategic objectives and internationally recognized public health standards and best practices in Lesotho.

The job holder will be engaged in strategic planning and policy guidance with respect to the measurement and impact of programs implemented by the CDC funded partners in collaboration with the Ministry of Health National HIV/AIDS Control Program and provide technical assistance in the design, implementation, and evaluation of HIV/AIDS Control Program activities with particular attention to the Antiretroviral Treatment (ART) and Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) management strengthening and, patient-centered and community-based approaches. The job holder plans, implements, and monitors HIV care treatment and support programs and activities and serves as a project offi ce and/or activity manager. The job holder provides expertise in organizational capacity strengthening, ensuring transfer of knowledge and skills to local partners in HIV Care and treatment programming and institutional development including leadership and governance, management, fiscal responsibility, and sustainability.

Starting Salary: M482,244.00 per annum plus diplomatic holidays and other benefits.
